Combining somatics + the poly vagal theory is especially useful for people with anxiety or those with generational challenges.

Hi, I’m Kristen,
Founder OF North Therapeutic Coaching
Like many people 2020 came with some big changes and for me it was time to pivot into this new career. I first pursued coaching certification, but felt as though there was a missing piece until I discovered somatic techniques and the poly vagal theory and married the two together to create a unique “body to mind & vice versa approach.
I have my internationally accredited coaching certification, and certification in body sense somatic work which allows me to address my clients goals, and the root causes for their feelings of being stuck. I want to normalize our human need for connection and joy. As a person who has a background in my own personal anxiety struggles, I’m a testament to the techniques and support needed by those that are disregulated and I myself am always working on my own growth.
The coaching philosophy of creating new thought based neuro pathways to enhance goals and direction may not be anything new to you, but the magic lies in combining it with addressing the body’s primordial physical cues using somatics and the poly vagal theory, (specifically something called the vagus nerve). The vagus nerve impacts our nervous system and basically our ability to even be capable of moving forward.
I don’t believe one can happen without the other. Blending the coaching philosophy while also addressing the body’s primordial physical cues using somatics and the poly vagal theory is a trauma sensitive approach and especially useful for people with anxiety or those with generational challenges.
